Huracan DivingA punch in the nose, well, I cannot continue to recommend them.
My last visit, at the dock, I was stopped by Ruth and told me she should punch me in the face. She was pregnant, and I kept silent as I had not seen or spoken with her in months. Maybe she was drunk, I dont know, but I took a seat and let her go get my house ready.
A little history. I brought Ruth and Karel to the island in 2008 to show them property including my house, since they wanted to open a dive shop. They spend close to a week out there and they struck me as nice people. They bought the old medical center and began making a business there. I did not want to run dive trips any longer so I referred my customers to them and they promised me a fee. As their business grew, they asked if they could rent my house to keep their staff on a nightly basis, with monthly statements and payments. I was interested since they said they would mantain the house and it would be occupied and properly taken care of. Of course I agreed.
As the business grew, Karel was on the water with the divers most of the time and Ruth began an affair during the day with one of the men on the island. After a few months of this, Karel moved back to Belgium and the man moved in with Ruth. Ruth got pregnant and the man was run off back to Miami. Ruth had the baby out of wedlock and has the baby on the island now. Karel was quite upset after all his hard work, but what could he do? The father has sworn never to set foot on the island again I have been told.
Huracan Diving has been renting my house for staff for three years now, and up till now have not paid any rent and my last inspection of the house, showed it to be in very poor repair, damage to the house, trash, old golf cart parked under the house, and my power system is nearly distroyed. They had replaced the deep cycle batteries with old mismatched car batteries, pushed over the wind turbine into the trees and had the generator hooked up improperly so that it would not charge the battery system.
Consequently when I arrived, I had no power, a clean house, but with a lot of rotten woodwork, and lots of trash and junk in the yard, all my power tools missing, all my wrenches, screwdrivers and quite a bit of my personal property missing or stolen and one very rude, very pregnant tenent, who did not want to discuss or explain anything.
I spent a week on the island in the dark, with no tools to make repairs and no help from Huracan Diving. the island manager loaned me some tools and was helpful and sympathetic, but Ruth had no offer of back rent, no explaination of condition of the property, and was not violent, but quite hostile.
On a remote island, I didnt not to make her upset as she was pregnant, but its funny how rules and some basic laws can go out the window and people make up their own. Huracan Diving
Well I could write a lot more, but suffice to say, I cannot recommend them any longer,
